Most people still freak out a little when entering a surgery the dentist points at the dental chair, and says “Make yourself comfortable”. How am I supposed to be comfortable? They are going to work in my mouth, and that is very far from being comfortable. Well, you can get comfortable at VitalEurope thanks to our high-end technologies. No pain or discomfort during, or after the treatment. How is this possible you ask? Dora Losonczi, head of our customer service will fill you in on the details.
What is the most common fear when it comes to dental treatments?
There are people who doesn’t like the sounds coming from the machinery. There are people who are afraid of pain. And there are people of course, who are scared of both. The treatment itself is painless, thanks to the modern anesthetics. However, receiving the injection can be uncomfortable. Not because of the pinch of the needle – the area is numbed before that. The pain comes from the liquid stretching the nerves.
So how does VitalEurope make all this painless?
First of all, we are injecting all our patients very carefully, to avoid any discomfort for them. We have two methods to achieve that. We use the so called “Magic Wand”, where the amount of liquid entering the patient, is controlled by a computer. This means the whole process is slowed down, so there is no pain. We also heavily rely on our experienced dentists. They know exactly how to inject a patient without causing any discomfort to them. It is also possible to listen to your favourite music through headphones during the treatment. This means all the frightening noises will be cancelled out.
What if I’m still scared? Can I be sedated?
Thanks to the rapid improvement of techniques and equipment used in dentistry, painless dental treatments are no longer a dream. We at VitalEurope try to maintain a friendly and calm environment for our patients. But sometimes not even high-tech anesthetics can calm the patient, or make them stay still during treatment. This is when we recommend general anesthesia.
What treatment can be done under anesthesia?
Anything you’d like, really. If you wish, we can even do scale and polish treatments under anesthesia. If someone has a bad case of gum sensitivity, or gum recession then using anesthetics is a must. Naturally, we do every major treatment such as implantation, preparation or fillings under local anesthesia. Everything is painless.
The worst part is when the anesthetics wear off after the treatment. How can I avoid that horrible pain?
You don’t need to worry about that, unless you had a major surgical intervention. For example, preparing a crown does not involve touching a nerve, so there’s no post-treatment pain. Placing an implant, on the other hand can be uncomfortable after the treatment is done. We provide all the necessary medication to our patients, along with an ice pack, to cool down the area. We can also provide antibiotics if needed. The pain normally goes away after a day or two, leaving the patient with nothing but a beautiful smile.
